Last night I dreamed I was part of a Kung Fu group in some far away city.
Each of us were representing one of the four elements. I was Earth.
We protected a city/small country from all sorts of evil and were heroes to
the people that lived there.
The city was very modern and reminded me quite a bit of Hong Kong.
After a while, I went on a quest outside of the city. It took me far away
and I was gone for somewhere around a year.
When I got back to the city, I found that it had been taken over by an evil
warlord and the remaining three elements were serving him.
The other three chased me from his palace and there was a chase along the
waterfront through market stalls and crowds.
They caught me at the gates of a temple at the edge of town.
“Now you will come and serve the warlord too,” they told me.
“We are supposed to fight people like him, not join them,” I said. “I will
not serve evil.”
“You don’t have the choice,” I was told. “We’re bringing you back and you
will serve.”
“You can’t bring me back,” I said, knowing none of them could move me when
I was standing on the earth. “I will leave and come back when I am ready
to overthrow your warlord.”
I turned and walked down a path with bamboo trees to either side. I saw
they send Air to follow me. She was a very tiny woman, so I ducked through
the trees into the crowds to try and lose her in the streets.
After walking through some very crowded streets, I came to the edge of
town. There was a large stone hill that overlooked the city and the
harbor. I climbed to the top and found portable grandstand seats set up so
people could watch fireworks over the city. It was still daytime, so only
a few people were there.
I saw Air coming up the path behind me and thought that a big rock would be
a good place for Earth to make a stand.
She flew at me and I knocked her up into the air very high.
She flew back down and landed in the stadium seating, sitting in the middle
with her legs hanging down.
I pushed the sections apart and walked under them to where she was sitting.
I grabbed her foot and got ready to throw her again. But, she was not
fighting back at all.
“I thought you wouldn’t fight us,” she said. “I thought if you had to
fight us to leave, you’d give up and come back to serve the warlord.”
“I won’t serve him,” I said.
“Then I won’t fight,” she said.
I let go of her foot and started walking away again.
Dream ends

The city in the dream is a city I’ve been to in other dreams. Hong Kong is
probably the closest city to the one in the dream. It has a similar harbor
and lots of open air shops like Hong Kong has. But, it isn’t as far south
and has a climate more like where I live. The big rock was very similar to
some of the places around here and even the trees were more New England
like than bamboo in that part of the dream.
I did watch Kung Fu Panda 2 last night. That has an evil warlord and a lot
of Kung Fu people in it. Including some who won’t fight against the evil
warlord.
So, I’m figuring that’s where I got the source material for this dream.
Although in the dream everyone was human.
