Important firsts

fbhjrAfter 2 years and 5 months working on my project at work, on Wednesday night the first of the giant robot freezers was finished and the cooling system turned on.
Thursday morning I was there with my infra red camera to make sure all was good on the inside of it.
At 8:00 Thursday morning I was the first person ever to step inside one of our working giant robot freezers.
Plenty of people had been inside while building it and will continue to go in to get it fully operational, but it was still very nice to be the first one ever to stand inside a working one.
Next week two of our customers are coming to see it. The software group has been working very hard to try and get the demo routine running perfectly for it.
Friday they ran it on our non-freezer demo version of the machine in front of our CEO and other executives from the Swiss office.
It did so well that the Swiss folks stood up and applauded.
I had hit my 40 hours for the week before lunch time Thursday. I had been worried I’d have to stay late Friday to get it running right. But, when it ran well, I ran too.
“I’m leaving now to keep this happy memory all weekend,” I told my boss.
“OK, but bring in your video camera Monday so we can film this working and show that film to the customers if something goes wrong in the demo.”
Both of us still expect a visit from Murphy, but these were two major milestones this week.
