It was a smaller turkey than normal, and we were eating fairly late. So, I had plenty of time to get up, make waffles and bacon and watch some of the parade before starting it.

Apparently I have trained myself over the years do set up the turkey very early in the morning when I’m half asleep as I didn’t do it as well as normal when I had lots of extra time.
The foil stuck to the skin and took a lot off. Sad.

But, it was still a big cooked bird.

So, we set off for [livejournal.com profile] yebo & [livejournal.com profile] zosh’s house with our ugly bird in the back seat.

They were working on may of the other components of the meal.

Soon [livejournal.com profile] cosmicirony joined us with pie and potatoes. Sadly [livejournal.com profile] cissa couldn’t join us as she was not feeling well.
One of the students from the college where [livejournal.com profile] yebo and my wife work also joined us.

We all relaxed in the shadow of the big mental hospital on the hill.

At least for me there is an element of “better with friends on the outside than with some of my family and me ending up on the inside...”

And inside at [livejournal.com profile] yebo & [livejournal.com profile] zosh’s house was very nice.

It was a good meal with good folks.

After a brief interlude to clean up, we switched to deserts.

There were several pies. All good.

I do feel a bit sorry about what we leave behind.

(I mean the mess...)

But, I’m told things won’t go to waste.

In the evening we did go back to game night traditions with some folks playing games and some folks visiting.

All in all, a very good time!
