Ugly Turkey, good Thanksgiving

It was a smaller turkey than normal, and we were eating fairly late. So, I had plenty of time to get up, make waffles and bacon and watch some of the parade before starting it.
Apparently I have trained myself over the years do set up the turkey very early in the morning when I’m half asleep as I didn’t do it as well as normal when I had lots of extra time.
The foil stuck to the skin and took a lot off. Sad.

But, it was still a big cooked bird.

We all relaxed in the shadow of the big mental hospital on the hill.

At least for me there is an element of “better with friends on the outside than with some of my family and me ending up on the inside...”

It was a good meal with good folks.


After a brief interlude to clean up, we switched to deserts.

There were several pies. All good.


I do feel a bit sorry about what we leave behind.

(I mean the mess...)
But, I’m told things won’t go to waste.

In the evening we did go back to game night traditions with some folks playing games and some folks visiting.


All in all, a very good time!
