Is reelection bad?

Would the US political situation get better if people couldn’t be reelected?
What if you were elected to congress and those two years you were there was
all you were going to get? Would that encourage you to get more done? You
wouldn’t have to say “if I don’t live up to the (political faction here)
agenda I won’t get reelected next time.
Let’s face it. Congresspeople get elected every 2 years. How much of that
time do they spend thinking about the next election? I’d say all of it,
but it’s probably not true. They probably start thinking about it before
they get sworn in, so it’s probably more than their total time in office.
Would that make people more willing to compromise to get things done?
Or, would it make them more stubborn? “I’ve only got one shot at this and
I won’t take no for an answer!”
