We went to the NY ren faire today. (About which I will write another post.)
I decided to buy a new falchion so that we have two sets to use.
The man we dealt with initially offered a discount if we were performers. So, I gave him a Phoenix Swords card.
I bought the sword and left it to be picked up later.

When we went back at the end of the day, the young woman who works there brought it out to me.
“Are you really with Phoenix Swords?” she asked.
“My wife and I run Phoenix,” I said, pointing to my wife next to me.
“I used to work at the southern Connecticut show!” she said. “I remember you fire shows. They were great!”
“How nice of you to say,” I said.
“They’ve got other folks who do it now,” she continued. “But, they aren’t as good as you guys.”
“Thank you very much,” I said. “We’re still doing them. We got one next week and another the week after.”
“Oh, I still look at your web site, so I knew that already. I just wanted to let you know I thought your shows were great.”

It was very nice to get totally unexpected compliments about our shows.
And, quite a nice ego boost.
