Not to sound like a broken record, but it was sunny and nice again today.

It was a bit cooler. I wore my sweater and there were a few times in the morning I was glad I did. (Splashing water, high wind & shade combine to make it sweater weather.)
But, by the afternoon I took it off.
We set off for SeaWorld getting there just as it opened.

And, as last year, we headed right for...the bakery!

Hey, we hadn’t had breakfast and it is a good bakery.
You may think we are the only folks who go to SeaWorld for the bakery, but there is always a line there.
Although not sea life, the squirrels there are very funny. I don’t know who these harassed people are, but they didn’t think them as funny as I did.

At one point eh squirrel actually grabbed her danish and started to run. She grabbed it back and there was a tug of war. But, I was laughing too hard to get a picture.
But, we were there to feed the animals that you are supposed to feed. So, over to the ray tank so my wife could feed them.

Apparently some were very aggressive and gummed her trying to get the fish. (They don’t have much in the way of teeth.)

Despite that, she still seemed to like it.
I went over to the dolphin area and fed one dolphin.

He was happy to sit under my hand and take my fish while several younger ones fought for fish with a bunch of folks on the other side. The trainer came up to me and told me I could pat him if I wanted.
“I’ve got to feed him with one hand and keep the birds from stealing the fish with the other,” I told her.
She motioned with her hand and the dolphin got up on the ledge so I could pat him more.

That was something I’ve never done before.
We did get the professional photos of it they took of me doing it. But, they only did hard copy so we’ll have to scan them when we get home for me to show them. (This gives Gatorland with its photo CDs a distinct tech advantage over SeaWorld...)
We also saw their manatees.

I’m sure the bones on the bottom of the tank are from people who try and swim with them...

It is nice to see them.

But, seeing 20 times more of them in the wild just a few days ago made this a bit less special.
Still, it is nice that the rescue and rehabilitate them.
We stopped by the gator exhibit. While, like the manatees, it was not as much as seen earlier this week, it was interesting to see them crawling over the fallen leaves. It made it look like alligators of New England.

They have a bunch of fish there.

The penguins seemed very active, leaping out of the water over and over.

We spent a lot of time at the seal and sea lion enclosure.

There were a couple of big male sea lions that had been relocated from the west coast. They had been caught raiding salmon fisheries. The first time they were branded with ID numbers on their back. The second time SeaWorld was called and asked “do you want them, or should be put them down?”
So, SeaWorld took them.

They did spend a lot of time chasing the other sea lions around the enclosure, getting going quite fast.

One of them wasn’t quite quick enough and got a bite to his back that actually bled a fair bit.

But, for the most part they all lay there and enjoyed the sun.

I decided to go up the tower “ride” to get a look around.

You do get a good view from the top.

You could see our hotel and our cousin’s building.

SeaWorld has all sorts of rides and things like that. Except the tower we didn’t go on them. The things we like seem to be the lower key things.

But, we still had a good time.
