Yay! Presents!
Dec. 13th, 2010 02:11 pmThe last of the presents I’m getting my wife for Christmas came in today!
It was scheduled today, so I wasn’t too worried. But, with all of the
storms going on in the center of the country I had some concern. When you
order stuff on line you’re never quite sure where it comes from or has to
fly through to get to you.
But, this morning there was a knock on the back door of my company.
When I opened the door there was a UPS guy there.
“Hi, I’ve got a delivery of a lightsaber,” he said.
“That’s for me!” I proclaimed happily.
“What do you guys do here that you’d need a lightsaber?” he asked me.
“It’s not for work, it is a present for my wife,” I told him.
“Your wife?” he asked. “I don’t know many wives who would want a lightsaber!”
“Well, I married the kind of woman who does,” I said. “Please pass it
over.”
He frown a bit, but handed it to me and had me sign off.
At lunch I went off and bought some wrapping paper so I can wrap up her
presents tonight while she is off at her MIT sword study group.
I have to figure out how to wrap the XXXXX so what it is won’t be obvious.
I’m thinking if I put it in a much bigger box it wouldn’t be so clear. I’m
sure I’ve got some boxes big enough for it at home. It might make it a
strange shape, but that’s OK.
In addition to the lightsaber, I got her (what I hope is) a nice YYYYY and ZZZZZ
from AAAAA.
I also got us tickets to the Cirque Du Soleil: Dralion show the first week
in January as she really wanted to go. But, I had to tell her about that
one as I was afraid she’d go and buy tickets on her own if I didn’t.
Hopefully she’ll like them all. I think she will. The hard part is
waiting for Christmas to give them to her!
