Never got the hang of Thursdays

You know what kind of day it's going to be when you bring your boss the news that you're short a part he wanted and he says "if that's true, I'm going to fucking fire someone".
Let's hope I can find some. The computer says we've got them. But, the folks in the stock room say they don't.

Oh, Dude! I'm having a similar day. I was "in charge" of the Ref. Desk this morning because the actual Ref. people did not come to work today. :(

So, I then went into a 2 3/4 hour meeting. They provided a nice lunch of grilled chicken and cheese sandwiches. (No, can't eat them. I had the cookies. At least there were cookies.) Then, I had to go help rebuild the show room where they didn't order the parts I asked for, but maybe that's OK as I had the color wrong.

Hopefully the stock person gets canned and someone who will actually track it comes in!

This is the same stock manager who when I once asked him to put a part in stock for me said "Oh, don't do that. It will get lost."
So, if the stock MANAGER thinks things will get lost in his stock room, what chance is there?

We were talking about how the new VP of Opps has offloaded almost everything the people who report to him do. Engineering gets the quotes for purchasing. Production has to manage their own stock. All customer service calls now go to him.
So purchasing only enters POs, nothing else. Inventory only carries the parts to people, nothing else. Customer service only enters customers orders, nothing else.
Yet, he got promoted...
