Yesterday we got up at 3 and drove to the TF Green airport in Warwick RI. I’ve been to Green before, but never flown out of it before.
It’s a nice place. They give internet coupons for parking.
Apparently our destinations are not the most popular, so we got a small plane.

While we waited, the shoe shine booth opened. While tempting, I didn’t want to pay $6 to get my sandals shined.

Because the plane was 100% full, there was a debate over “a pair of seats with extra leg room.” The person at the gate said it had to be a pair of people. So, I walked up. Another man raced in front of me.
“If he wants it so bad, let him have it,” I said.
A couple of minutes later, the gate person came up to me.
“There are two of you, right?” he asked. “It is a pair of seats.”
The seats were:

So, not only more leg room, but you’re first off in a disaster. Fine by me. We took them.

The plane was very small. The air vent was only about an inch over my head and giving off very cold dense air. It felt like being in the shower.

We waited at the end of the runway for a long time. Then, I saw we were just yielding to oncoming traffic. No problem with that.

We took off over Providence.

We flew the 40 miles north to the Mass Pike, then turned left. Because of that we came fairly close to home. The air was pretty hazy, so I couldn’t get a good shot. But, you can see Worcester on the left, the lake in the center, and Shrewsbury to the right of the lake.

When we went over the Connecticut river it was very interesting. The river valley had filled with clouds/fog.

We flew past Niagra falls.

Every year we’ve driven through Ohio, we talk about the spot where the highway was filled with geese.
The curve of the highway is that spot.

My wife was very interested in the color differences of the lake. I could make guesses as to why, but don’t know for sure.

We landed at Cleveland without problem.

We did not need these folks. But, it’s good they were ready.

I’m really glad we didn’t need these folks!

There we found the plane we were on was the same one going to Louisville. But, they wouldn’t let us stay on it for the ride. We had to get off, then get back on.

The Cleveland airport had Best Buy dispensing machines. They’ve got as many iPods as most of the full stores.

We took off back over the lake, then turned left again.

Soon, we were over Louisville.

They have some nice old planes there.

They also have mythical creatures.

And, big traffic jams.

But, we got here.
More on what we did here later.
