Night on the town
Oct. 2nd, 2009 10:53 pmAfter my wife got home from work I gave her my present. As I’ve said elsewhere, the think I like most that she’s ever given me was “coupons” for things from her. She said she wanted something similar, but couldn’t tell me what she wanted coupons for.
So, I made her “Franks”. After all, France has switched to the Euro, so they aren’t using them any more, so I might as well. So, if she wants a favor from me she has currency only redeemable with the “Bank O Frank”.
Who says you can’t print your own money? You can as long as you don’t expect anyone else to accept it.
Anyhow, then we went out to dinner at the Japanese place here in town. We used to got there a lot, but haven’t for a while. When the owner saw us coming he got out two sushi ordering slips and was standing there holding them out to us when we came in the door.
He was surprised, but I don’t think disappointed, that we said tonight we wanted a cooking table instead.

We had sea bugs and cow.

It was very nice.
Afterwards, we went to... The Mall!

Wait, you say, your wife hates the mall.
Yes, she does.
But, the movie theater that has the Ben & Jerry’s booth with the sorbet those of us who can’t have milk like is there.

It was a somewhat strange experience. Coming in we passed a young man intent on going up the down escalator.

While waiting at the B&J booth I realized the people in front of me were speaking Chinese, the people behind me were speaking Spanish, I was surrounded by bright colored lights and video adds were being displayed over my head.
“I’ve walked onto the set of Blade Runner,” I thought.
But, I got the frozen desert and went back to the theater and no one got shot.
No clue if anyone there was a replicant or not.
We saw The Invention of Lying.
“That looks a lot like Lowell,” I said to my wife. Checking the filming locations when we got home, we found parts of it were filmed in Lowell. So, I guess I know Lowell when I see it.
We both liked the movie and are looking forward to sleeping late tomorrow.
All in all, a pretty good anniversary!
Luv da volcano!
