There was a cow in our spot...

We survived the “Pipes in the Valley” performance today. We just got home, so I haven’t had time to even look at the pictures, much less edit them.
It is a big festival. There must have been several thousand people there. It’s held by a brewery, so that’s several thousand people drinking beer.
When we got there I found a person in a “Staff” shirt and asked him where we needed to set up.
He told me to follow him and led me along the shore of the river, under a bridge, past the inflatable pubs (2 of them!), and down a bit of road.
“You guys should be right over there,” he said, looking at his map. “Right about where that cow is.”
I looked where he was pointing. There was a highland cow in a small pen.
“That cow shouldn’t be there,” he said.
“Where did the cow come from?” I asked.
“I suspect the highland games people put it there,” he said. “Do you want me to tell them to move it?”
I looked at the cow. I looked at the guys in kilts setting up the highland games just past the cow. I looked at the nice grassy area across the street from where the cow and games were.
“Can we set up over there?” I asked, pointing to the grassy area.
“No, something else goes there,” he said.
“What?” I asked.
“The highland game’s cow,” he said.
I looked at him. He looked at me. We both looked at the cow.
“I’m happy to trade and let the cow stay where it is,” I said.
“That sounds OK,” he said. “I’ll have to check with the site manager, but I think he’ll be OK with it too.”
He was. It worked well as the side we got had a lot more shade.
And, we got a good view of the guys in kilts throwing heavy things in the air and telephone poles across the field.
They broke a caber tossing it.
It’s just as well the cow was on that side.
So we did sword stuff from 11 until 5. Then, at 6:40 we did a fire show.
I’m tired and glad to be home.
