5 Months

So, today is 5 months I’ve been out of work. That’s the longest I’ve been without a job since I started in the supermarket back in 1980 when I was a junior in high school.

I’ve been trying to think of some other way to get some work. I was wondering if I could auction engineering off on eBay...
People now auction off doing custom drawings and paintings of your pets. Would people be willing to pay for a 3D modeled file of something of theirs?
Don’t know. I’m trying to think out of the box here. It’s probably daft.

To be honest, I’m far more sad about losing my camera yesterday then the job thing. I don’t like being out of a job, but I’ve had some time to get used to it. The camera is the only thing I’ve had as a creative outlet lately.
I’ve been fairly stingy with my money. I could get a new one. But, my car also needs inspection and I’m worried it will cost a bit to get it into spec.
Hopefully it will show up.

I hope it shows up, too. Was this in Clinton?

And of course I keep hoping you'll land a good job soon, too.

Yeah. I brought it to practice, but it didn't make it home. I thought my wife grabbed it, she thought I grabbed it, neither one of us had it.
I went back to the practice ground and it wasn't there.

So, I think someone grabbed it by mistake.

I was thinking of faking some ransom pics of your camera but I don't remember what it looked like. But it would have been amazing!

Sigh...I'm sorry. I wish I had something brilliant to share.

I hope it shows up!

As for the Ebay thing, you did strike a chord there. It takes some time and research, but you may want to look and see if there are things you can purchase and then resale on ebay for a higher value. I know that sounds weird, and I don't know a lot about it, but for example, my ex-husband found a deal at Wal-Mart for a cordless drill set that included the drill, 2 batteries, and a couple other tools for a great price. He figured out that, by separating out the different tools and the batteries and selling each thing separately on Ebay, he was able to make about $100 profit per drill set...needless to say, he went out and bought a bunch of sets and made a pretty decent chunk of change. I don't know how you come across these types of things (or why people don't just look at Wal-Mart before overpaying for something on Ebay), but it's a possibility.

I found that there already is 1 mechanical engineer selling their service on eBay. So, at least one other person had the idea.
I wonder how it is working for them? But, I can't ask as I want to compete.
