We drove up to New Hampshire, past the restaurant of infinite change.

We’ve been driving past the place for more than 15 years. I’m not sure it has ever been the same place twice. It is often a Chinese place, but I’m not sure if that’s what it is now.
We got to

We played some with their toy destroying dogs.

And, spent a nice afternoon visiting with them on the shores of their lake.

We had a nice dinner that Evrgreen cooked for us while my wife made cookies.

Once night fell, Evrgreen got out his telescope.

We found the dangers of the telescope were not only a finder scope not lined up, killer mosquitos and the moon going behind trees, but squeeky dog toys to be stepped on in the dark.

Although I did use the houses across the lake to align the target scope, we did not use the main scope to spy on the neighbors.

Instead, we spent a lot of time looking at the moon.

(Note, that shot is actually taken through the telescope. I couldn’t get it to focus because the focus isn’t through the lens. But, it does show you how the trees got in the way.)
Evrgreen’s wife took to the water to try and get a better look at the meteors we can occasionally see going over head.

While she did that, the rest of us stayed on the beach.

We did see a number of meteors and several satellites going over head. We decided that anything was flashing lights was a plane, or the international space station was having a disco night. While we did concede that NASA is letting the folks on the space station get away with a lot, it wouldn’t be going over head quite that often, or in several different directions. So, we’re pretty sure we saw a lot of planes.
While I’m pretty sure I saw the lake monster swimming around at night, a closer look indicated it was just a few loons swimming around the lake at night.
Still, it’s a good time and I’m glad we came up to visit.
