2013 end of the world
Jan. 3rd, 2013 10:01 amAs I remember it, it is 2013 where Snake Plissken uses an orbital EMP
weapon to destroy the world’s technology.
I’m not too worried about it as I don’t think LA has become a site for
political exile as it was in Escape from LA, so maybe the other stuff won’t
happen either. (Although I wouldn’t mind one of those holographic
projectors they had.)
But, then, Jupiter wasn’t turned into a second star in 2010. Nor was a
manned Jupiter probe sent up in 2001.
And, I’m just as glad that the moon was not blown out of orbit September
13, 1999. Or that whole populations were not bombed out of existence in
the Eugenic wars of 1996 or by the machines taking over on August 29, 1995.
(Or, July 25, 2004 in the revised timeline.)
I suppose this means I shouldn’t expect the Back to the Future flying cars
two years from now.
