Today I had to walk up to the post office to send more things to
So, I brought the good camera with me to get a picture of the Ent.
Now, you might have to look carefully to see the features I see, even with the picture from the good camera. But, if you look closely, I think you will be able to make out a nose and mouth under the eyes...

Clearly an Ent.
My guess as to why there is an Ent around has to do with the remains of the big storm last December.
There are still large piles of sticks on almost every lawn from the storm.

The Ent must be upset that no one is taking care of them.
I suspect there must have been a big clash between the Ent and some other large creature. Probably something Godzillaish in nature.
You can see here that the bushes are all broken off about 6 feet off of the ground.

I think the Ent must have picked up the other thing and thrown it through there.
It must have flown some distance taking down trees.

And then landed by the swamp.

This would explain why the town seems to be trying to build an earth wall around the swamp.

Now for something completely different.
My father worked for the power company for 52 years, then consulted for them for several more.
Many of my weekends growing up involved him taking me to power stations, sub-stations or just following power lines so he could learn their route.
(Once when we were in Florida, he drove us to the GE plant where they made some parts he used in the power grid. My cousins went to the beach...)
Anyhow, my point is, I’ve seen a lot of electrical facilities over the years. But, despite that, I never expected to see a dedication plaque like this one.

That’s right, I get my power from the Booga Substation.
I spent most of the rest of the day digging in the office.

That’s 8 bags of trash, 2 printers and a monitor removed after the photo the other day.
Hard to tell, isn’t it?
In somewhat good news on the job front, I’m meeting with a headhunter tomorrow morning. He says he’s got several jobs for someone with experience like mine. But, he wants to meet face to face before putting my name in for any jobs.
So, not a direct interview. But, it’s the first anyone has wanted to meet with me about even a possibility of a job. So, I’ll take what I can get.
Yup, that's an Ent, alright, but it must be a baby one.

I'm your BOOGA man, I'm your BOOGA man,
Turn me ON !
