Strange dream

I dreamed I was working on a documentary team where we went to a isolated island where the people of the island believed that the women from the island came from the rocks.
Young men, when the reached the age to get married would crack rocks open until they found a wife.
The island was not very large, but had several different types of rock in different areas. The families that lived in a certain area would use the rocks in their area and tell anyone listening that their kind of rock produced the best women.
The folks who lived by the shore would bang rocks about the size of their fists together. They said they sometimes had to crack open dozens or even hundreds to get a woman to appear.
I videoed two young men going through a beach of rocks deciding which ones to pick up and crack together, getting no results and going on to another pair.
The folks in the farm land went to large rock outcrops in their field and used small stones to break off chunks of the protruding bedrock. They said you didn’t need to break off many pieces.
The folks in the forest liked flat round rocks they would throw like a frisbee to break. They said the farther you could throw it, the better. They were of the throw a lot crowd.
The folks in the hills would go to the top of the hills where they often had set up little camps by exposed outcroppings of rock.
They would pull fairly large sections of the outcropping off of the hill and throw it down onto rocks at the bottom. They were careful to let the outcropping split, not to break it off there. They said you never had to throw more than two or three for the woman to show up.
Each group, when interviewed, would go on at length about how important it was to chose the right rock to use. They attributed things like shape, color, grain and such qualities in the woman that would show up. But, each group had its own criteria.
The island had no girls or young woman on it.
When the women were asked they said they had indeed come from the rocks.
When asked what it was like to be a rock they’d say "not very interesting, you’re a rock".
During the interviews we videoed lots of men breaking rocks and saw no women appear. Even when they would congratulate themselves and say "that one worked for sure".
Dream ends
I think this comes from me watching documentaries while playing video games.
I’ve been watching a bunch of nature documentaries and yesterday watched one on the Mongols that went into the difficulties Genghis Khan had getting his first wife. I think I’ve mixed them up in my dreams.
But, it was very strange.
