Old photos

My mother’s sister, who my wife and I visit fairly often, left me a bunch of photos when she moved to the latest nursing home, and I’ve finally had a chance to scan them.

This is of me and my brother some time I’d guess around 1970 or so.


This is the most recent of them. It’s me and my wife with my grandmother. My wife and I met in 1983, so this is no newer than that. My wife’s wearing a sweater, so I’d guess over the winter of 84 or something similar.


This one is apparently my mother in December 1962, which is when she married my father. So, my guess is this is related to that.



This is a photo from some time before that with my mother on a beach with some lifeguards.



Another one of my mother, i’d guess about the same time.


Based on the name, I assume this is my mother as an infant with her father’s grandmother.



This appears to be me and my mother’s brother, who was my godfather, when I was about 6 months old.


This appears to be my mother some time when she was less than her current 94 years old…


This is my mother’s mother hold me when I was around a month old. Probably about the same time as these other photos.


This is my mother’s brother and sister holding me when I was about a month old. As they are my godparents this could be when I was baptized.


This would appear to be my mother’s father holding me at a similar age. We were never close, so I’m a bit surprised to see this.


A bunch of these seem to be from my grandmother’s 80th birthday party, which would have been on or around August 8th, 1980. I suspect my sister took the photos as she isn’t in many and someone took them.







This is me outside my aunt’s cottage some time around 45 years ago.



It looks like me working with my aunt to cook lobsters.

This was at my wedding in 1993 and is my cousin, father and aunt’s husband. You can see my cousin Christine in the background.



This was a postcard I apparently chose to send to my grandparents at some point in 1971. Not sure why. My grandmother hated the Kenedy’s, so maybe to annoy her.



Another postcard. This one my father sent to his in-laws in 1975 when he was on a business trip to Sweden. I am amazed he sent them one as he had little regard for them and I never would have expected him to send them a post card. Who knew?
