We got up fairly late for us and had breakfast at the hotel.

Then, following Google we went off down some small roads rather than the highway. I’m sure we saved at least 10 meters…

But we did get to the highway eventually. Speed limits are 130kph/85mph. You move right along…

Then back to smaller roads.

Eventually you could see it across the fields. It does stand out.

You can take a shuttle bus out or walk. We opted to walk. It’s about 2 1/2 km/1.5 miles. Before they built the bridge you would only get there at low tide. But, the bridge helps.

My wife was interested in the marker out in the mud. I did convince her not to wade through the mud to read it. It is basically instructions on what to do if you get a vehicle stuck there in the mud. (Call for help.)

When you go in there is something like one of the shopping streets at Disney you pass through. It isn’t what I expected.

I’m not sure why they sell Japanese style swords there. Or, swords at all at a monastery. But, several shops did. Some had guns too. We did not buy any…

There are a LOT of stairs. My phone says I climbed 20 flights that day. But, it is very pretty. As it was Sunday morning there was an actual service going on there. The tour guides you around that and tells you not to take photos or video of it.

There used to be a human powered elevator, but it looks like it hasn’t worked in a while.

We ate lunch there, and then opted to take the shuttle bus back to the parking lot.

I’ve wanted to go there a long time and I’m glad we did.

WOW!

It looks really cool and a little ominous in the mist, but then the photo where you can see it clearly, with the blue roofs, wow very impressive.

Also love the little corridor at the top of the wall that goes across. So cool

I didn't realize they'd built a bridge to Mont-Saint-Michel, I thought you still could only get there at low tide. That's a place that I'd like to visit too. Your photos are lovely.

Tourists. There are certain things they love to buy, no matter where they are.
