Strange dream

I dreamed we needed to find a new practice space for our sword troupe.
The state agreed that we could use one of the rest areas along the turnpike as it was already used by a historical group and one more doing it wouldn’t be a problem.

So, we all drove to this one rest area that really was just a parking area off the highway and nothing else. We ran through all our sword exercises we do at the start of practice and then began talking about what to work on next.

A man in a park ranger uniform came up to me.
“I don’t think that show of yours is going to work out for us,” he said.
“What show? That was our warm up exercise,” I replied.
“Yeah, it’s not that engaging. We need something that will keep attention better than that.”
“I didn’t know anyone was watching, or we could have done our actual show, not just a warm up exercise.”
“I think you’re going to need to find another place.”
“Why don’t you let us do our actual show?”
“No, you’ve had your chance. Plus, the Civil War guys are much more interesting.”

He pointed behind some trees. In a clearing I hadn’t seen before was a whole Civil War camp full of people in uniform. They seemed to be having some sort of event.
I went over and there were a bunch of folks selling Civil War items. They looked very interesting, but weren’t things I was really into.

“If you’re not going to buy something, move along,” someone in the uniform said.

I walked back to where the others were waiting.
“We should look for some other place….”
Dream ends

There’s stuff going on with our practice space right now, and I’m sure that’s what prompted this.
I’m not sure where the Civil War stuff comes into it.

Well, part of your dream is off, at least from my Civil War experience.

One of the (many) reasons I stopped attending events is because I found the "Battles" boring and tacky.
Not just for me as one of the reenactors, but for the audience too.
