Vacation part 4a, Walls before Castles

Monday morning we got up and had a nice breakfast.


We left the Dickensian sleeping establishment and set out for the only museum along Hadrian’s Wall open on Monday’s in winter. (Yes, winter ended that day, but quite late…)









The sign is not wrong.


We did get there eventually.



Good warning…


Not as sure of this one…


It’s a bit of a walk. (Uphill both ways…)














The ticket booth is at the end of the walk, with a museum and shop!


Then, up to the fortress along Hadrian’s wall.







































































Then, back to the museum.








Then, we drove to Scotland.
But, after all these photos, I’ll do that as another entry…

I really must go to Hadrian's Wall!
When we were children we kept a slow worm as a pet, his name was Sammy and he lasted about 3 years
