We started with an international house of pancakes breakfast.

This seemed to make some happy.

Then, off to the Southwick Zoo. https://southwickszoo.com
We took them there once before, 9 years ago:

They have accreditation now.

I’m not sure if they remembered us…

Some things reminded us of a trip 2 1/2 years ago.

We did decide we had to pick which we’d go see.

There were lots of interesting animals.

Some signage indicated other folks who had been to the zoo.

It’s a good thing this one said the hog was under vet care as it didn’t look good.

It did start to rain, so we looked for a way to get out of the rain.

It worked a bit, but was a problem when the rain started coming in sideways.

There was lots of discussion of their family history with iguanas.

Then, the problem of feeding the deer.
When we got to the first deer enclosure, the only coins any of us had were from the wrong hemisphere.

The turkey, which was not part of the zoo, was not impressed.

So, we decided to head to the other deer enclosure.

The rain resumed. Even the chimps were trying to make rain coats. We used trees.

Then we reached the other deer enclosure.

There were folks waiting to get food and go in.

So, in we went anyhow.

Lots of other kids there too.

We did find another feed station with a shorter line. The deer were interested.

My wife and the kids fed some.

I was less direct.

Then, we took food back to the first deer.

The one with the antlers was mean and used them to drive others away.

This did not impress the folks with the food who made sure others got some too.

We also tried their endangered creatures maze.

Ben made it through first.

The rest of us moved at a slower pace.

Then, we went off to the sky ride.

So, off to the sky we went.

It is a bit tight in places.

There were a few places I worried.

But, we made it back.

Then off to dinner where everyone had a scintillating conversation

When we got home, Ben finished the Lego Saturn V he started last year.
