Sunday night the hotel had some sort of very loud party that went to about 3 in the morning. Even through I was on the 3rd floor, the music was loud enough to shake my bed until at least 2.

Some time between 2 and 3 a bunch of folks were in the halls singing "happy birthday to someone". When I got up at 7, I was very tempted to return the favor as it was pretty easy to tell where they went.

I did wonder about my floor. Why was the paint worn off the other numbers, but not mine?

On the way to the train station I spotted a kids ride based on Thunderbirds…

Then, to the train station.

We caught a train into London, and soon were there.

We walked off to our first stop, the British Museum.

It’s a big place.

I spent most of my time in the English history area.
Cool stuff.

I like chess…

I always pictured the Roman cities as larger. What is it, a city for ants?

I did go see the Rosetta Stone. Because…well, it’s famous, isn’t it?

I liked the gift shop. Especially the miniature replicas.

I did like that they had touch tables where you could actually touch some things there.

Joe flew in for the next week’s of installation. He met us at the museum and then we headed off.

Ray wanted to bring a Rolex back for his father, so we went to a Rolex store near the opera house. But, the one Ray wanted wasn’t there.

As discussed elsewhere, as we had lunch, my phone was taken and Joe chased them down across the marketplace.

We walked off towards Big Ben after that.

We went past the cavalry museum. Even though Ryan had been in the cavalry, he didn’t want to go in.

Then, Scotland Yard. Not for the phone though.

That Ben is big.

Boadicea and Darth Vader. Very strange.

Ray wanted to see the Tower Bridge, so we took a boat ride up to it.

We did think the building across the river a bit strange.

But, on with the boat ride.

We stopped just past the first monument in London.

We hadn’t gone far…

I think I saw this in a James Bond movie.

I guess this is where they real London starts.

Lots of famous sights.

Someone stole one of the bridges.

Many of the bridges were infested with people under them. Maybe they were stealing them.

They called this theater The Globe, but it was hardly even round…

London bridge was falling down. But, not this new one.

Eventually Ray’s bridge came into sight.

I was more interested in the tower.

But, it is hard to ignore the bridge.

But, there is other stuff to see.

We got off there and walked about.

There is an Underground stop at the tower. Joe did learn about minding the gap as he was still towing his suitcase around.

Back to King’s Cross station.

There was a line to have your photo taken by this sign.

We did not wait in the line…

We took the train back to Stevenage and ate at the hotel.
