This morning I went to the eye doctor to have my annual check on the partial blindness in my left eye.
The good news is: it has not gotten any worse and there is no sign of it in my right eye.
The bad news is: it didn’t get any better.

I’ve been told not to expect it to get better. And, that even staying the same is better than many.
The doctor again told me that most folks he sees this in have it much worse and it continues to progress.
The fact I went to the doctor immediately and started taking treatment as soon as possible is credited with mine being better than most.

And, it did hold to the same level. 12% missing last year, 12% missing this year.
18% missing 2 years ago.
The doctors tell me this is probably my getting better at taking the test and 6% difference isn’t significant.
But, I noticed a difference between two years ago and last year. And, I haven’t between last year and this year. So, I am willing to believe there was a small improvement there.
(It could well have been the swelling that caused all this still going down back then.)

While I am a bit sad that the improvement has leveled off, I am still tremendously happy and thankful that it is not getting worse and not hitting the other eye.

If anyone is interested, these are the actual graphs of the vision loss over the last 3 visits:

Does that mean people start to lose their vision and DON'T immediately run to the doctor to try to save it?
