Friday my wife was off to one of her Fairy Fairs. So, we decided it would be a day to do things near to the house as I’d be outnumbered.

The day did not start well as we got stuck in a traffic jam in the parking lot of our home.

The garbage truck was emptying the dumpster, but the guy behind me thought honking would make that go faster.

We grabbed a quick breakfast at the supermarket, then went to the art museum.

They had games set up in the courtyard, so we played them.

We were most interested in the giant chess, but it was being played.

At first we waited as it didn’t look like it would take long.

But, when it became clear it wasn’t going to be a fast game, we went into the museum.

It is sad my wife wasn’t there are there was a bunch of glass in the special exhibit area.

There was looking into extra information on exhibits.

And, Ben seemed to be more interested than in years past.

There was much discussion on one of my favorites.

And, benches.

We were sure this guy was up to something.

Gabriele seemed to like this one a lot.

Ben seemed to like this one a lot.

We discussed the painting my wife once sniffed.

Then, back to the chess set.

It also went on longer than expected.

Finally I interceded and pointed out a 1 move checkmate. That was deemed cheating until I said "now we can go to lunch".

We went to a noodle place downtown.
