Conversations with myself

I remember Logan’s Run. The movie that won an Academy Award for special
effects the year before Star Wars came out.
I remember how great I thought that movie was back in 1976. Cool stuff…

At the end of that movie the computer is interrogating Logan to find out
about Sanctuary.
It was one of the first use of holograms in films. They had these rotating
heads of Michael York saying things.
“What is the location of Sanctuary?” the computer would ask.
“There is no Sanctuary,” Logan replied. “All Frozen.” (Not the movie of
that name from decades later…)
The computer keeps asking and probing his mind. But, the answer is the
same.
The computer can’t accept that there is no Sanctuary and blows up.

Waiting for the new Star Wars movie last night I had a similar discussion
with myself.
“In a few minutes the new Star Wars movie with start,” I thought to myself.
“There is no new Star Wars,” I replied to myself. “All Disney.”
“No, no, it’s here. You bought your tickets two months ago and have
dragged them around half the world with you since.”
“There is no new Star Wars. All Disney.”
“Look, there is a theater full of people. They’re all expecting a Star
Wars movie.”
“There is no new Star Wars. All Disney.”
“You’ve seen the previews. You can’t evade the ads for it on TV…”
“There is no new Star Wars. All Disney.”
“You’ve already ordered the sound track. It’s by John Williams. It will
auto-download to your phone at midnight.
“There is no new Star Wars. All Disney.”
“Look, the lights are going down. It’s about to start.”
“There is no new Star Wars. All Disney.”

My brain is pretty stubborn. Even after it started it took a bit.
Maybe it is because of the lack of the 20th Century Fox theme.
I miss that theme…

As much as I despise many aspects of 20th Century Fox, that theme has become so familiar, SW notwithstanding.

As for SW: All Disney

It's borderline offensive to see Disney-Disney-Disney in the closing credits except they did such a damned good JOB.
