Catching up with photos

The weather has continued to look cool even if it is now at the point I need to wear a coat and run the heater in the car in the mornings.

"Super Drivers Wanted?"

How does that work? What super powers do you need?
Do you have to lift the truck if it breaks down? Fly it over traffic jams?
Cool work if you can get it.
The leaves still look cool, but many are now at ground level.

I have to admit, that is the thing I really hate about the fall. Raking leaves. It is the major reason we live in an apartment instead of buying a house. I just can’t stand to rake leaves.
I started having to do it at home when I was 4 and when I moved out at 17 never wanted to do it again.
We’ve had much more rain the last few weeks than over the summer. The good news is that means rainbows.

If there is a pot of gold at the bottom of a rainbow, these guys are ready to look for it.

There are still leaves on a lot of the trees in the valley over which we live.

That’s the problem with raking. It goes on and on for weeks if not months.

I ended up winning because others had forgotten what we said was the winning condition and I was able to sneak in and do it before they could shoot me.
We have a lot of ships between us.

Sunday started nice.

Still many leaves up there.

My wife wanted this photo of this tree.

I like the lower gas prices…
She brought the car in to be checked before we drive to Alabama and back soon. It took more than $1000 in unexpected repairs.
Sad.

As we went south it got more cloudy.

I don’t know who's hat I was wearing Sunday. I found it in our car. I think it must be Jose’s as we gave him a ride to practice a few weeks ago.

Nope, not raking them.

There are only 4 of us going to Alabama for the show. But, that is still a lot of folks to fit in one car with all the stuff to do a show. So, we’ve been trying to trim it down to the things we MUST have.

There are going to be three of us doing sword fights. So, we only want the swords we MUST have for that.

Yeah, that should be enough for three…
The big problem with the show is how do we turn three swords fights with three people into a 1/2 hour show. The fights are about 5 minutes long when you run them all together.
We pondered this a lot.

We have a plan.
There was some sword fighting too.

It is supposed to rain all week this week. But, on my way home there was a little break in the clouds just at sunset.

I’ll take all the rain in those clouds this week if the weather is good for our trip!

Date: 2014-10-22 10:57 am (UTC)While living at home after college, my folks weren't pleased with my refusal to do the work at first
but my folks do like 'puttering' in the yard, and dad was also always looking for a mechanical advantage
and gone through a couple of devices to aid/speed the process.
Raking leaves didn't seem as big a deal to me as say mowing the lawn, as then it's in the hot summer, instant allergy attacks,
and bugs. And heat. I mentioned heat right? Leaves? Not so much, and the smell is nicer. But bagging them is annoying
and of course the moment you're "done" more leaves had fallen, etc etc.
Shoveling snow is the worst, but, that's pretty much unavoidable.
…Glad the Empire managed a win! My tactic was to try and distract the other force so you could focus on the objective.
I'm bummed I couldn't have stayed longer. Looking forward to the next game session.
Sorry about the car. Ouch. But it is nice to see gas prices going down a little bit.
