Getting inspiration from others

I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night, so I’m not really at my best
today. But, I’ve got a design review this afternoon I can’t miss, so I’m
trying to get motivated.
(It’s not my design, but one of one of the folks who works for me. Mine
was yesterday and went OK. This one I just have to make sure doesn’t get
out of hand, which can be harder than actually presenting the idea.)
Anyhow, I’m looking around for things to get me feeling less blah.
One of the things I found is that google has updated the photo of the area
where I work. Although the company moved to this building more than a year
ago, up until very recently it only showed forest on the map.
But, on my wife’s birthday they took a new photo and it is uploaded.
If you want to see where I work, go to google maps, or google Earth and put
in: +42.087743,-71.438469 and that is pretty much my office.
I also found today’s XKCD.com comic very interesting.
I’ve been accused of taking photos more than experiencing things. I don’t
feel it is true. I usually take photos of things I want to remember
because I experienced them, not instead of experiencing them. But, that’s
why I like this comic:

I like XKCD in general, but sometimes that have really good ones like this.
Finally the calendar I got from my cousin at Christmas has various quotes
per day on it.
Today’s is: “The wind in your sails is none of your making” said by John
Updike.
That’s a concept I don’t think the management where I works understands.
And, it is a good reminder in general.
