Electrical issues, part 2

I bought a new power strip. It was surprisingly difficult as the young man who asked me if I needed help at Staples had just started and didn’t know where they were himself. So, an expedition was launched. Finally, the manager just stood in front of us and pointed to the right aisle.
My local garage couldn’t do anything on the hybrid problem, but put in a new head light and direction light.
I brought my car to the dealership for the hybrid issue. I explained the problem.
“Maybe it’s just the cold,” I said.
The service person looked at me.
“I’ve been doing this a lot of years,” he said to me. “Since we first started selling the Prius brand. If the hybrid system warning comes on, it is never just the cold.”
“When my local garage looked at it, they said it was a battery code. But, once they cleared it, it did not come back.”
“Don’t get your hopes up,” he said. “It’s never just the cold.”
He called me 3 hours later.
“We can’t find any sort of error with it,” he said. “What did the local garage find?”
I called the local garage. They had not written down the error code, but only knew it was a battery thing. I passed that one.
“OK, we’ll do more tests.”
Three more hours later, I called him.
“We still can’t find anything wrong with it,” he told me. “We’ve driven it around some hoping the light would come back on and give us an error code, but it didn’t.”
“So, is it OK?”
“I guess so.”
I went to pick it up yesterday evening. The man I had given it to 12 hours before had gone home.
The guy who took over looked at the notes.
“Looks like it was just the cold,” he said, smiling. “That will be $126 for the tests we did.”
“OK, where do I pay?”
“Over there. Then you’ll be sent a survey about how we did. We hope to get all 10’s!”
“Hope away,” I replied.
This morning I find my hood is back to not latching down. You’d think they would have noticed that working on it. Ah well, I guess they don’t really need all 10’s…
