I’m surprised I can’t stick my sword there…

Last night I was working on the plane tickets to Wales for the class on
making a bronze sword in April.
I got all of the way to the purchasing point and was about to click “buy”
when it popped up with a message block saying “please confirm you have read
our new hazardous material prohibitions”.

So, I clicked on the file and there it was:
“Axes, swords & knifes not allowed in carry on OR checked in luggage.”

When did that happen?
I’ve flown with my swords plenty of times, granted, always in checked
luggage. We had one troupe member who went to great lengths to demonstrate
why you shouldn’t mess around with the inspectors at the airport. But, the
swords still got on the plane.

I’m going to have to figure this one out. The whole point is to get the
sword. I don’t want to make it and then not be able to have it.

The airline is where I heard it....

:/ ... wonder if that is just that airline or all airlines? I wouldn't think it a problem if it's in the baggage area? Have you asked about shipping it home via mail or is that too expensive?

We have already made arrangements to ship them. The person who runs the class tells us he ships them all of the time. I just don't want it to take weeks in transit...
