Vacation photos day 5
Monday morning we got up and checked out of the hotel.

The hotel’s parking was interesting. Anyone could drive in, but you had to get a coin from the hotel to get back out.

Next we went to the Haribo factory near where the museum was.

We didn’t do a factory tour, just went to the store.

When I took the genetic test a couple of months ago I took a genetic test that said I was more Neanderthal than many.

Since that branch of humanity is named after the valley where their remains were found, and that was only 20 minutes from where we had been, I thought it would be cool to go there.

To get there, we had to go through the town of the over friendly person from Saturday night. We saw her town, but not her.

It is a very beautiful area. But, not all our photos came out.

But, some did.

The Neanderthal train station has a big parking lot.

The train line got good reviews, but we didn’t take a train or bus from there.

So, photos taken, we set off again for the Netherlands.

When we got to Delft we parked at the garage that Google said was close. But, when we looked at the directions, it was still a 20 minute walk in the 35C weather.

Rather than drive around a city we didn’t know, we went for the walk.

Not a lot of shade, but it was pretty.

A bridge we needed to cross was up, but not for that long.

It was a long walk in the heat, with little shade, but we did get to the Delft factory. We bought tickets to the tour and went into the factory.

Can’t avoid that Night Watch.

It was interesting to see that the craftspeople there still use foot powered wheels.

They have a lot of molds for things.

My wife particularly liked the courtyard.

And, benches!

Once we got through the tour, we headed back to the car. We took a different route, but it still took a long time.

Once we got back to the car we headed off to The Hague. Some interesting buildings between there and here.

Once we got to The Hague, we drove to the beach area and parking in a garage there.

It turned out to be next to the hotel, and cheaper than the hotel parking. So, it worked out.
We checked into the hotel and went to our room with a nice balcony over the beach.

We decide to head down to the beach.

I was worried about the jellyfish in the water.

But, we waded in anyhow.

I didn’t stay long and returned to the land.

My wife was not deterred and headed back into the water.

She went out a good ways.

Eventually we decided we had too much sun and headed back to our room.

Some of the local birds thought they should be the ones on our balcony.

After the beach we ate dinner at a place in front of the hotel.

The sun still didn’t set until 10PM or so. But, it was a wonderful sunset.

Even the Pokemon seemed impressed and came out in their beach hats.

Not the least expensive place in The Hague...
There is lots of cool stuff in the Netherlands. I like The Hague better than Amsterdam, but Amsterdam has bigger museums...
