Worse that grilled chicken!
Tonight I got a call from Toyota about extending the warrantee on the car we got 3 1/2 years ago.
The woman asked for my wife, but I explained I am the primary driver.
"Our records say you chose not to extend the warrantee. Why is that?" she asked.
"I really don’t feel I need it."
"You’ve got to talk to my manager!"
"Wait!" I started, but was too late. The music began.
A minute or so later a man came on.
"Sir, why don’t you want to extend your warrantee?" he asked.
"I do not believe it is the best investment in this car. I’m afraid I have spent as much time on this as I’m going to tonight, so I’m going to end this call."
"I can’t believe you’d just hang up on me…" he said as I pushed "end".
10 seconds later my phone rang again.
"DON’T I GET TO SAY ANYTHING!??!" he shouted at me.
"NO! You don’t!" I shouted back. "You’ve wasted enough of my time and my time is worth a lot of money to me. Goodbye!"
I hit end again.
He didn’t try a third time.
This annoys me almost as much as the Sirius XM woman who told me I was wrong for not liking her radio service. (http://fbhjr.livejournal.com/614651.html )
My wife was surprised that I got angry over this.
Maybe things are getting to me more this week.
But, it did make me mad.
I like my car. I really do.
But, those things around it (radio, warrantee and service) really annoy me.
Edit: They just called again. I guess they don't know about caller ID as I didn't pick up.
I did enter a complaint against them on the Toyota corporate site...
