More adventures in The Hague
I went to bed about 6PM last night. Other than waking up with bad leg cramps I slept through until 7AM.
Then, I had breakfast here at the hotel and set off to take the tram to the customer site.
It is about 3 blocks to the tram station.

There are a lot of canals here in Holland. Some times we went next to them, some times over them.

My boss was here at the customer site today. So, there was a lot of meetings. Meetings with the customer. Meetings with the field service guy. More meetings with the customer. Etc.
It's good we got a lot done yesterday.
When we were done, Mike the field service guy drove us back into The Hague near my hotel so we could explore some.

My boss rode shotgun.

I've past this store several times. Don't know what it is about.

I made a quick call to my wife while they parked the car, then it was off walking to the Dutch parliament building.

It is even closer than the tram station.
There were a bunch of cars with police escort going the wrong way down the street. And, inside the parliament building a blue carpet waiting. So, we figured something must be up.

Why a blue carpet? What have these guys got going with blue here?
Mike, who lives here, couldn't tell me.
But, he lives over in Amsterdam, 40 miles away.
So he didn't know much about The Hague anyhow.
Like: That's some old church here in the Parliament building.

Yep, clearly true.
It even is the kind with little people hitting the bell on the hour.

And, what parliament building would be complete without a herring stand just out front?

Yeah, the fish. I checked.
We walked through the shopping district for a while.

This sign for wooden shoes is not saying what I thought it was saying at first.

Getting back to where we started was easy. Turn left at the herring booth and walk through Parliament.

It's a city. They even have pigeons just like at home.

Their pubs do look a bit more powerful.

We had dinner at a sushi place that was very nice. But, they wouldn't take my credit card because it didn't have a chip in it. I guess they are ahead of us in credit card tech here.
On the way home we passed one of the local "coffee shops" that I guess sell a lot more than coffee.

"What, like tea?" I asked.
My boss and Mike looked at each other.
"Never mind, go back to your hotel," they said.
So, I did.

As for the pigeons...Europe is where that species of pigeon came from when brought over to the US (as well as others) :D
Too funny about The Hague. Everything looks very interesting there, hope you have more exploration time

I am allergic to almost all airborne particles, even in countries where far more is legal than at home.
