It’s a good thing I like leftovers
For the March game night it is traditional for me to cook corned beef. I
suppose part of that is some tie to Saint Patrick’s day. In New England,
corned beef is tied more closely to the Irish than the Jewish folks from
whom they borrowed it. So, near Saint Patrick’s day there tends to be a
lot of it.
As last month’s game night was cancelled due to “the blizzard” where we got
27 inches of snow, everyone said they were going to be coming to this
month’s game night.
Based on the expected numbers, we got 15 pounds of corned beef.
We boiled it for several hours last night.
I wasn’t worried about the snow forecast. Six inches over three days
wasn’t bad.
But, then the storm changed track.

Yeah, we’re right in that upper pink patch, by the “s” in Worcester, where
it is 18-24 inches.
Well I actually like corned beef hash made with the leftovers more than the
corned beef itself.
So, this should be OK.
Those, if any, that do show up will have plenty to eat.

I was once a butcher (many years ago) and I had a lady buy an entire rump, and had it minced, to feed her dog.
I forget how much it cost, but I remember spending hours slicing, mincing, weighing and bagging.
I hope that dog enjoyed it.
