Game night, March

For the March game night we did corned beef, potatoes and carrots.

My wife did almost all of the work. About all I did was adjust the temp of the water and carry it to the car. But, it was a busy work week for me.

[livejournal.com profile] yebo cooked what he called his “miniature Belgian cabbages” to go with it.

Maybe not so colorful, but it is one of my favorite meals. Especially with the grey corned beef cured with salt only. I’m not very hot on the red.

Everyone else seemed to like it too.

Then we played some games.
7 Wonders:

Drakon:

(The dragon game that [livejournal.com profile] gilden suggested to us)

And, finally, The Great Dalmuti:

I think third place was the best I did at any of the games. But, I play to have fun with my friends and not to win. So, by that standard it was a rousing success!

Yummy!

I especially LOVE tiny miniature belgian cabbages, but don't get them anymore :-(

You had quite a good crowd at the dinner/game night!

Gray corned beef can be cured with spices as well as just salt; it just doesn't have the "pink salt "nitrate or nitrite- I forget which). Not to say that all versions do that...

My home-cured is gray, but it uses allspice, pepper, paprika, and bay leaves as well as the salt. No pink salt though.
