Roaming about

Today I got my hair cut. I’ve needed it for months, but haven’t gotten around to it.
But, today I did.
Before:

After:

Once they were cut, my wife and I went shopping and I ordered a chair.
I should get it Monday.
We also looked at new couches. There is one we both liked in every way but the color. The sign on it said “discontinued” We asked and it turns out only the horrible color is discontinued and we can get everything else if we so decide.
No decisions yet. But, it’s been 20 years or more since the last one.
We’ll see how the chair goes over.

Finally, I just have to say I am disgusted with the election next Tuesday to replace Ted Kennedy.
I like politics. But, I’ve had 6 phone calls about it today. Almost all pre-recorded and all fear mongering things like “if my opponent is elected everything you hold dear is at risk!”
That’s just bullshit.
The one real person who called asked me who I was going to vote for.
“That’s a hard one,” I said. “I think both are reprehensible.”

Their ads clog my TV, my internet and now my phone.
This is not a way to get people to support you.

that your expression (After) is due to the annoying phone calls and not representative of your hair-cut satisfaction.

Maybe the next phone call you get you should tell them that you are going to write in Ted Kennedy - if it is good enough for Chicago it has got to be good enough for Worcester, and maybe, just maybe, Ted my come back from the afterlife to help the healthcare reform thing happen. It may take something that drastic...

I don't like getting my hair cut, so it's probably some of that.
But, the election calls are really annoying.

And, it is sad that the health care for the entire country is going to be determined between a few idiots here in MA.

I agree with you, they're all fricken idiots.

And no, calling me or my family/friends 6-7 times a day is no way to get my support. Period. That's one step teetering into harrassment and it should stop. I'd like to know if anyone in MA has called the police or whomever to crack down on harassing phonecalls, because I probably would. Thankfully the idiots don't have my cell number, not yet anyway.

Unfortunately, legally politicians and charities are allowed to harass us to their heart's content.

I am on a personal crusade to try to convince them that because this is LEGAL does not mean that it is WELCOME, and voluntarily respecting Do Not Call lists would stop them from pissing off the very people they are supposedly trying to get to support them. I am not inclined to do ANYTHING to support people or orgs that harass me.

So far it seems to be a lonely crusade.
