Strange dream
I dreamed I worked for an overnight delivery company like FedEx or UPS. I was in charge of “special” deliveries.
A customer brought us in a pet snake that had to be shipped to another city. While not poisonous, it was a nasty little snake that liked to get out of its cage, bite people and hide.
It wasn’t very big, a foot long at the most, and was not very thick being only a little thicker then a pen.
Despite being a small size, it was kept in a bird cage. The space between bars was wider then the snake, so it wasn’t very effective at keeping the snake contained.
While the owner was there, it stayed curled up in a little ball in the center of the cage.
I took the cage from them and they left. The snake woke up and imediatly uncurled and stuck its head through the bars of the cage. It flicked its tongue and started slinking off out of the cage.
I grabbed it just behind the head to keep it from getting away. It hissed in anger and curled the rest of it’s body around my arm.
My coworker got me a box, and we tried to get the snake into it. The snake didn’t want to get off of my hand. But, by unwinding it and holding it’s head in the box, we were able to get it in.
I got on the plane with the box. As we flew to where we were going, it tried to get out of the box. As we got ready to land, it finally poked its nose through the corner of a box.
I grabbed the box and put my hand over the corner. It tried to bite me, but it was the flat of my hand and it couldn’t get a grip on me.
I carried the box out of the plane that way, but when we got to the ground my hand slipped and it started crawling out of the hole in the box. I tried to grab it by the back of the head again, but it pulled back to quickly and struck at me again.
One of the other employees of the company tried to help me keep it contained. But, it kept getting loose and attacking us.
“Maybe it got lost in shipment?” my coworker suggested.
“We’d have to pay the owner if it got lost,” I said.
The snake curled up between us trying to decide which of us to bite.
“It’s only money,” I said and we both turned and walked away.
I looked back and saw the snake stretch out in the sun near where the delivery trucks parked. I didn’t think it would be a problem long.
Dream ends
(My wife and I used to have a pet snake. As it got older it got more and more bad tempered. Finally, it took to attacking me when I tried to clean it’s cage. This reminded me a lot of that, but the snake in the dream was much smaller. Still it was a very frustrating dream.)
definitely work-related
In any case, I think that your dream is just warning you of potential risks, dangers, or fears at work, some of which you already know about and some which may try to bite you in the arse despite your best intentions. Your decision at the end, indicates that you might be willing to deal with the potential consequences, whatever they may be.
That is my sidewalk psychiatrist interpretation of it, anyhow..
