Hopefully a bad prediction...

I’ve long liked the novel Doomsday book by Connie Willis. (She is one of my favorite authors in general.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Book_(novel)

As it deals with plague, historical and modern, I’ve been re-reading it.

Today I reached a part where someone from America is complaining to one of the main characters that they are upset they are being quarantined.

“In America, nobody would dream of telling you where you can or can’t go.”
And over thirty million Americans died during the Pandemic as a result of that sort of thinking, he thought.

Yeah...
Let’s hope the book was wrong with that prediction...
