Week in photos

My wife has had a cold all week. It has been hard to tell if I’ve been catching it in the middle of allergy season. But, by the end of the week I’m pretty sure I did catch it.

But, allergies or cold, the bees like the flowers.

And, it is nice to have the leaves back on the trees.

It had rained a lot again this week. But, there has been some sun.

It is hard to tell, as I was driving by and didn’t stop, but the dinosaur has switched to a crown of flowers.

Friday was game night. We only did only one game that was a space zombie game.

Saturday was dam day. Twice a year they let folks walk across the top of the dam to the Reservoir. My wife was off doing one of her fairy shows, so I drove up there.

Where I live, we don’t get our water from there. But, it is still cool and close to where I live, even if I don’t drink what is behind it often.

I got there early as last year there was trouble parking even through it was raining. So, I walked over to the dame before it was technically open.

The park on the backside was open, which it normally isn’t. So, I walked the many steps to the bottom. (No one seems quite sure how many. If you go down one side and up the other it is 741. But, I went up and down the same side…)

I’ve not been down to the bottom before.

It’s an interesting view, but it is a lot of stairs.

I worry a bit about what appears to be the dam leaking, but it’s not much…

Probably condensation, right?

It’s a very nice park. Same folks don’t normally get to use it.

I do worry about the dead fish in the water supply.

Didn’t stop folks from fishing there.

It was a nice view of the moon rising.

You can clearly see where the old train bridge used to be.

I heard no alarm. But, I certainly would have gotten out of the valley if I did.

I did climb the more or less 370 stairs back to where I started.

While I waited for the top to open, I stood there and congratulated everyone else who made the climb. I should have made up little certificates.

The moon was very interested in what was going on and kept peaking down.

Eventually 2 in the afternoon arrived and the rangers opened the top.

So, out over the dam we all went.

Long way up from the bottom.

The rangers were ready for folks going over the front. Not sure about the back.

From the top of the dam the angle was right for the fountain at the bottom to show a rainbow. It was very pretty.

On the other side you can see where the train bridge got to that side.

You can almost make out the tunnel through the hill on the other side.

After having my fill of walking over and back, I went back to my car and drove off. The traffic was very bad with folks still arriving.

I did go past the tunnel on the far side.

It was a nice day and much better weather than last time.
