Baltimore Comicon
Last year we went to Comicon in Baltimore with our Godkids and their family:

Their dad actually had the best time of all of us. So, he offered to buy tickets for this year, let us stay at their place and come get us at the airport if we were willing to come visit. There was a nice sale on plane faire, so we agreed.
Sadly, my wife does not get the Monday holiday off from work. And, all of the Sunday flights were either very expensive or late at night. So, we opted to only spend 24 hours on the ground there. Fly down Friday night, do the convention Saturday and fly home Saturday night.
Friday after work, we headed to Boston to go.

When we first got to the airport there were a lot of Pokemon around and lures at the stops. But, as we waited for our flight they all left.

Maybe it was because we were flying out of a terminal under construction and there weren’t a lot of folks around.

But, soon we were flying down the coast.

(That’s somewhere near where we live, but I can’t tell exactly where…)
They came and got us at the airport.

As we headed to the car, Al had a bad experience with something he could step over.

I’m not saying we all laughed at him getting a lane divider between the legs, but he laughed about it, so it couldn’t be too bad…

We brought the things the kids forgot to bring home last month. Including the "Elrond" like headpiece for their dad.

Even though it was 11 at night, we decided to use their new pool.

It’s a salt water pool, not chlorine. It’s very nice.

LED lights make swimming at night very cool.

Their mom was working at the hospital for the weekend. Being the doctor in charge she couldn’t say "I want to go to Comicon instead". OK, she probably could. But, she wouldn’t be doctor in charge long if she did.
So, the 5 of us headed into Baltimore.

Traffic was really bad. So, the last 1/2 mile took us 1/2 hour.

Then, we parked and walked the last 2 blocks.

I found the sandwich shop that gave "free smells" an interesting idea.

But, we didn’t go there for lunch…
Al wanted a photo near the sign. We were only a bit in the road to do it.

The lines didn’t seem quite as bad as last year. But, we got there later too, so maybe everyone had just gone in already.

Still, lots of folks there.

Very similar sales floor.

Disney on the loose.

This guy was great. I complimented him on going an extra mile for a wifi hotspot. He gave me a T-Mobile bag, even though I told him I use AT&T.

This R2-D2 was going all day and very popular.

I liked seeing Grand Admiral Thrawn too…

It is good I can track my wife’s phone, but we still spent a lot of time chasing each other around that sales floor.

Gabriele seemed very excited about this woman’s costume. I don’t know what it is.

Flash and reverse Flash meet…

Gen 1 Iron Man.

Not sure…

I spent a lot of time with the kids looking over things on the sales floor.

He takes the escalator because HE’S BATMAN!

Dinosaur!

Look, Spiderman!

OK, it isn’t as vertical really.

Dueling Powergirls and a confused Captain Marvel.

(Yes, one of the Powergirls was not a born female. Still, an interesting costume.)
Doctor Strange.

Rather than eat in the convention center, the kids and I went across the street to a much nicer place.

I thought this was a great pair of costumes!

Speeder bikes!

Big Pokemon.

Al and my wife spent most of the time listening to the guests speak.

They had the person who does Deadshot on Arrow, Hodor on Game of Thrones and Sam in Lord of the Rings.
Lots of folks showed up for the costume contest.

Some were very cool.

The "Angle of Death" I thought was very good.

The dragon was impressive too.

Then, off to bring us to the airport.

We had a bit of a worry as a Cardinals game was getting ready, and they were shutting down streets.

But, we got out and got to the airport with plenty of time.

We didn’t take the moving walkways as the airport had turned them into pit traps.

These folks welcomed us to the airport.

My wife was not impressed.

They were nice to Pokemon players.

I had been worried the tropical storm south of us would cause problems.

But, it moved out to sea and stayed there. So, we just got good sunsets.

It was dark before we took off.

But, we had no problem seeing Philadelphia and New York as we flew over them.

how long was this flying for you?

It takes more time getting through security and waiting for the plane than the actual time in the air.

No idea either, but it looks well made.
I have no guess as to what the furry thing with glowing eyes is supposed to be, but the eye effect is cool.

The one she liked was the woman with the red scythe. I think some video game character.
