Week in photos

Sunday Tom, one of our troupe members, and his wife had an end of summer party. It just happened to be his birthday too…

On the way we stopped at the Apple store on the way to see about fixing our broken computer.

That has not worked out for us:

Then off to Tom’s.

It was the perfect day for a cookout.

It didn’t hurt that there was a child contaminate device on site.

Tom, being Tom, burned things.

Like father like son…

Casey did some fire juggling, but managed to set his fule on fire.

But, it was a nice day and he was surrounded by people who do fire shows and deal with this sort of thing.

On the way home we saw a VERY pro-Pokemon church.

I found this week that the Coke company is apparently selling Romulan Ale packaged as Fanta soda.

Summer is coming to an end, so my drive in and out of work is closer to sun set and sun rise.

We had an oxygen problem in a lab at work when all the freezers started venting nitrogen at once.

Good thing we installed that automatic vent…

I don’t know how the driver got his foot out the other window, but I didn’t see anyone else in the car…

I hope this guy got under all the bridges.

I looked for rocks this week and saw a cool stick.

I hatched a LOT of Pokeggs on this road this week.

It was the driest August in record. But, September 1st, lots of rain.

My wife likes sushi.

Our marketing guy at work is very trusting. I don’t know where he went for an hour leaving money, phone and keys right out on the desk.

That old style Chinese restaurant near where I work is closing to remodel.
I think that’s sad as I liked that 40 year old look.

But, I might have been the only one….

This Sunday my wife and I went to an antique bottle show. It was cool.

But, I’m not paying hundreds of dollars for antique bottles. I still like seeing them.

I did think it strange that this bottle show that only cost $3 to get in had MUCH better signs than many of the shows we perform at that charge $10 to $15…

As we often have problems keeping lighters for the troupe fire shows I bought a Tesla Coil lighter. Makes a nice little arc and is rechargeable. That should work!

Man. My work desk is out of the way (people can't see my keyboard as they walk by) and I'm worried about even leaving my phone out of a drawer! Heck, I'm not even fully comfortable leaving my purse in a drawer (but what can you do? Leaving it in my car would be worse).

I like to think the folks in my department can be trusted. But, he has the desk near the door. So anyone coming in or our could see it...

Wow...at work, everyone just leaves everything on their desks O_O Like, wallets in purses and stuff. I wouldn't want to be so constantly on alert at work!

It doesn't at all surprise me that it varies between countries. Doesn't help me trust the situation that there are just so many people who work around me. Probably 100+ on my floor alone, plus various techs and cleaners who come and go all day. It's really no different than if I were at a store or restaurant.

We've got 100+ people at the office as well, but we don't have dividers between people who sit next to each other, only those sitting across from each other, so if someone tried to take my stuff, everyone would be able to see it. And everyone sitting near me knows who I am, which helps, too :p

Ah! You're in an open office plan. That makes sense then.

that car with the feet sticking out? That was a passenger laying down next to the driver i'm sure. I do NOT want to know the reason why though.

that Fanta looks really cool

Yeah, I'm sure there was a second person, even if all I could see was their feet.

I think that one of the reasons why my parent's yard sales were always a huge success even though we lived on a road that was only two blocks long was that my father made up a ton of easy-to-read signs and posted them on all the major roads near our house. And then collected them when the sale was over to use the next time we had a yard sale. Good signage WORKS. I don't know why more people can't figure that out.

Very trusting, I had so much crap stolen from my desk when I worked in a call center. And it was stupid crap like my lunch or all my pens ugh.

I like looking at old bottles. Most of the come out of where outhouses used to be. We had an old outhouse spot where we lived and my brother used to dig the bottles out. eeew.
