Photos from Atlanta

Monday about noon I went to the airport and flew off to Atlanta.

Lots of people wanted to go to Atlanta on Monday.

And, they all got in cars and drove around.

My hotel was behind a Cracker Barrel.

I was frequently reminded of my wife.

Some of the places seemed a bit strange. Swords dentistry?

It was hot while walking about.

But, pretty.

Wednesday I went to Waffle House for a good breakfast.

With some extra time, I went to visit the source of the town’s name. Apparently it was named Canton as they imported mulberry trees in the hopes of making silk.

I also stopped by the local park.

I run into this problem down south a lot.

But, there was a nice river and a very interesting tree.

I guess they really care which way you walk or ride a bike in the park.

It is a nice park.

No idea what these bumps are. I couldn’t find out anything about them either.

I managed to rip open my pants on this padded chair. I’m still not sure how. But, I had extra pants so it was OK.

At first the drive back to the airport was OK.

But, it was not to last.

I couldn’t change flights, so went to Milwaukee to get to Boston.

Somewhere out along that horizon is where my sister lives.

Although I got there 20 minutes late, it was OK as my plane to Boston was even more late.

But, it was a nice sunset.

Despite a strange route (red instead of green) I got back to Boston.

Although in my whole life I have only spent a little over an hour in Wisconsin, I still got a cheese hat.
And, my wife bought me balloons.

I’m glad to be home. Now to get some sleep!

I have never in my life seen a cheese hat - that's so cool.
It's so lovely to be welcomed home with balloons :) I'm glad you arrived home safe and sound.

I will hazard a guess, and say the bumps in the park are bullworks. Left overs from the Civil war. I have seen mounds like that in other spots around the southern states. But it's just a guess.

Love the pics of the horizon from the plane.

And that breakfast does look good.

Your wife must've missed you ... ;-)

Wisconsin is a strange place. When we went there about 16 years ago and every other billboard was for a local brew of beer or a local brand of cheese. I must say that it had a lot less litter than we do/did.

I've heard that Waffle House is one of the best places to get food in the US. I think I'd have to visit for a few weeks just to try all of the food places, though. The one I would most like to visit is Chipotle /tangent

I love those balloons. And that cheese hat, that's perfect!

...Wait, Winsconsin is known for cheese? Man, a joke I heard in a video months ago now has context!
