A nice weekend in New Hampshire with friends
Saturday morning my wife and I drove up to New Hampshire to visit

For those who haven’t been there, New Hampshire is the land of mountains and boats. You might not think those things go together, but everyone in NH does.

It is a very nice place. I very much liked it when I lived up there 25+ years ago, but there aren’t a lot of jobs.

This is not the dirt road on which they live.

But, it does lead to the dirt road on which they live.

Although the dogs barked a lot and seemed concerned at our visit, we were warmly welcomed by the humans there.

The dogs quickly became more concerned with their toys. Especially the rubber squeaking pig.

It makes a very large squeak when a big guy like me steps on it.

This prompted the dogs to hide it from me for most of the weekend.
(We never did find where they hid the blue one…)
We quickly changed into our swim wear and dove into the lake.

I had remembered my underwater camera, so I used that far more than my normal camera.

Our hosts also had an inflatable google drive that we used to float around.

There were many other floating objects as well.

Of course there we other people on the lake with boats, jet skies, and geese.

The dogs were very impressed.

After a few hours we got out of the lake. We realized that we had been having so much fun swimming that we totally forgot to eat lunch.
So, as the sun went down we had a very nice dinner.

We were all fairly tired, so fell asleep pretty early.
This morning it was nice and sunny.

My wife wasted little time in getting back in the lake.

(She has a sunburn on her legs from Saturday and the cool water makes it feel better.)
The water was still a bit cool for me, and it took me a while to get in.

Mrs Evrgreen and I swam off to the island in the middle of the lake. It’s about 1/4km there.

We had a lot of fun in the water.

This is what my wife and I look like to the fish.

While Evrgreen started sitting out with the dogs, he did eventually join us.

Sadly the wind blew my cave hat into the water, and made it very soggy.

Even the dogs came in for a bit and good time was had by all.

There was a big car race near there today and we wanted to avoid the traffic. So, we left early in the hopes of beating the people onto the highway.

At first I didn’t think we had done well at this.

Then I realized we actually had beat most of the folks onto the road.

Despite many cars on the road we made good time. We got home by about 5 and did laundry.
This isn’t as much fun as swimming and visiting with friends in their lake.
But, I’ve got to go to Atlanta tomorrow for most of the week, so, I need to do laundry and pack.
Sad.
But, at least it was a good weekend leading up to that!
