Home again, home again
I got up and had my breakfast at the Holiday Inn before heading out.

Then, I headed out.

I found out what all the blue light was about. I guess it is to make it harder to find your veins if you’re injecting something illegal. So, doorways, bathrooms, under bridges, etc.
It was still fairly dark when I got to the train station.

Back in the 60’s there was a train called the turbo train. My dad took me to New York City on it for my 6th birthday.
Some of these trains remind me of it.

Dawn was coming up as we headed out of The Hague.

The Netherlands is a nice looking country.

The airport, not so nice.

They do things I don’t think are efficient.
Like, each gate has its own security check point rather than one for a whole terminal.
The luggage check in is in a bunch of individual lines instead of one large one. So, if you’re in a line where something goes wrong, as i was, the only option is to leave it and get in another line.
You have to go through 2 different immigration checkpoints to leave.
The gates have prerecorded loading announcements. So, if you have a plane that doesn’t match, the gate agents have to shout over them saying “No, we mean row 10-15!” or whatever.
I had been surprised that it said get to your gate 2 1/2 hours early. But, once I saw what you had to go through, I understood.
But, we got on the plane.

Sadly the window seat I asked for didn’t have an actual window.

Well this just confirms that I think is the Delta Airline attitude problem.
“Of course we’ll give you a window seat. If you join our frequent flyer club and log on to the web site and then choose your seat. But, tt just won’t have a window.”
I can’t blame them for the screaming child meltdown in the center seat.

I did sneak my camera up to the window in front of me for some photos. But, it’s not the same as being able to look out myself.

Away we went. Goodbye beach.

A mere 7 hours later, there was Boston!

Of course there was still a wait getting off the plane.

But, soon I was there in Boston.

My wife was having trouble getting me. Something about traffic in the tunnel so bad she had to get out and swim.

But soon she was there!

I was surprised to see Fall had arrived while I was away. 6 days ago these were all green.

It is good to be home. I just have to convince my body it isn’t still 6 hours ahead.
