Aaaaaaaaaa Part 2
I went to look for a replacement camera. The kind I had isn’t made any more. I guess when I bought it for $150 I got a really good deal. Used ones on line are going for $400 and up. Don’t know why it is going up in value, but I guess that means I’m not the only one who thought it was a good one.
Sadly, the replacement model for the one I have is $250. With no job and major car repairs, that’s more then I can justify.
I could get one with Amex points, but we were saving them for other things.
I’m still hoping it shows up.
We brought out an old box with a lot of leather items (bags, bracers, gloves, etc) at practice Sunday. Since the camera was in a small leather case, I’m thinking someone picked it up with some of those things we were giving out. But, no one has found it yet.
(And I have, so far, resisted the urge to go visit people and look through their stuff.)
I also went back to the practice grounds again to make sure it wasn’t there. I scared the landscape guy who rents the upstairs quite a bit.
He uses the bathroom in our practice area. He thought he was the only one in the building when he was using it. He came out of the bathroom to find me standing there with an annoyed look on my face. (Because I wasn’t finding it.)
I hadn’t meant to scare him. Despite being a big guy, I often seem to sneak up on folks. I’m glad he didn’t have a gun on him...
I’ve also been trying to figure out some way to make money. I’ve got CAD software. I’ve got a nice 3D rendering software. My thought was to join them together and offer rendered images of things. But, I can’t get them to agree on a format they both use. I’m still working on that one.
I got another rejection notice from a medical parts company. They seem to be the big growth industry theses days in Massachusetts. But, they all want experience with it, which I don’t have. At least these folks said the experience I did have was impressive. (Yes, I’m sure it was part of a form letter that everyone got. But, today I’m going to believe they really meant it, OK?)
My car was repaired. I’ve got 6 months to pay for it before I’m charged interest on the loan. That’s not a bad deal.
I still can’t drive it.
I’ve got to get shiny license plates for it before I can take it out on the road. So, that’s the plan for tomorrow. Theoretically that won’t cost me any money, just time at the DMV. Probably a lot of time. But, right now I’ve got the time, so I’ll get it done.
