I remember going to see the 2001 remake in the theater with my folks, and generally liked it.

At the time, I was irritated with Lisa Marie's character, but I think that was the point of the character, although I wasn't much of a fan of
the actress, either. She was host of a SciFi Channel Shorts show and I found her annoying there too. I vaguely remember she tried to make the claim she spent a lot of time trying to work with the mouth prosthetics so that she didn't sound like her mouth was full of marbles. I didn't think she was particular successful but then again it's been, well, 20 years probably since I've seen the remake.

I've seen several sections of the original movie, but don't think I've watched it end to end.
I'm sure I've seen parts of the myriad of sequels but none that are notable.
The modern sequels/prequels I think I've seen maybe one of them, but the overabundance of MoCap, despite Andy Sirkis, just didn't do it for me.

The "Dr. Zaius" bit on The Simpsons is perhaps my favorite homage to it.

I think some of the old-school movie posters had a lot going for them. Star Wars and Indiana Jones I think were among the pinnacle of traditional hand-made poster art. (some of them made for VHS release though....yikes)
