it isn't privilege. it's manners. i'm utterly APPALLED that she didn't IMMEDIATELY apologize. it would have been the first thing out of my mouth. but, also, her accusation should have been phrased something like, "Sir, I'm very sorry, but our cameras flagged something and I just need to check your scanner for a second." and then, when she realized her error, "VERY sorry. Everything seems in order. Have a nice day."
i don't think it's white privilege at all. in fact, it makes me wince to think how this person might have handled a POC. maybe your very presence there that day, with your dodgy pie-shopping behavior (j/k, obv), made her stop and THINK before she ruined the next person's day.
