This week’s practice

We went over to storage and got the pole arms that CJ wanted to practice with.

But, she didn’t actually come to practice. Ah well.

When we started Phoenix Swords in 2002 the historical stuff was something we did at the museum and we mostly did kids acts at faires.
Over the years, the kids acts faded out and we mostly do historical shows.
This faire wants both, so for the first time in 5 years, we’re doing the kids acts again.


And, puppets…


Folks seemed to take to them fairly well.

Even if we all end up dead in one of them.


Of course, we did also practice the sword fights.





I like this one catching my dropping the sword to grab Tom.


But, when something similar happens with Tom’s sword, it fell in a way that the tip scraped down my leg.



Ah well, I’ve had worse.
