At the peak!

My car has reached its peak mileage for the year, 51.65 miles per gallon.
(21.96km/liter, 63.03 miles per imperial gallon, 4.55 liter per 100km)

It is a hybrid car (PriusC) and very sensitive to the temperature of the
air around it. It does much better in the summer, and worse in the winter.

If you chart it against air temperature at time of gas purchase you can see
it more clearly:

Last year I got much better mileage than this year. I’m thinking that was
the weather as it was a cooler than normal summer.
We’ll see how the winter goes.
Snow really kills it.
The heater, light, wipers all add to the reduction in the cold. But,
pushing snow out of the way is by far the worst.

Hopefully it won’t be a bad winter.
We’ll see.

I have had tanks of gas right on that 60 boarder. This is just averages, not the imdiviual tanks.

How ddl you like your C?
I'm quite happy with mine.

Love the C! My son has one that's a 2005 and still going strong, so I have great hopes of this lasting until electric cars become reasonable to buy. I was afraid it would seem hard to drive after my last car (VW) but it's quite pleasant, even if not quite as much fun.

Sadly, last month in one week I got rear-ended AND someone ran a red light and hit me, but fortunately both were only body damage and the car is otherwise fine. But with two wrecks in the record, I think I will have to drive it for the rest of its life.

I was hit a while ago by someone turning right from the left lane. The car held up well.
So, I understand.
But, I had planned to keep mine for the long haul anyhow.
