New Years
In a few minutes it will be the new year where I was last year on new year’s eve.
But, I’ve got 16 hours to go here.
Leap years you normally get 24 extra hours. 2017 I’m getting an extra 16.
It’s the only year I’ve had like that. A bit strange. Not sure what to do with the extra time…

As I turn the calendar into February, the "Frank in Australia" disappears.
Sad.
That was the best vacation we've had in a long time.
I miss it.

Homeward bound
Our plane from Melbourne loads in 10 minutes.
It's been a great trip.
Hopefully all will go well on the way home...

Last day in Melbourne
This stuff with flying at night and getting in at midnight, and/or night time tours of places really impacts my ability to edit photos...
New Zealand was very nice. Hobbiton was great!
We're back in Melbourne for about 12 hours, the fly back to the US via Qatar.
Trying to get the luggage balanced now...

We made it to New Zealand.
I booked the hotel 100 meters from the terminal.
As we got in just before midnight, that was a good choice.
I took a lot of photos as we went around Melbourne, but I'll post them later...

And, now we're in Melbourne...
We got here.
The second flight was longer, more crowded and on a plane that gave less space.
So, not as happy an experience.
But, we got through it, got our rental car, found the hotel and the WIFI password.
People laugh when I say we bring rain wherever we go.
In Qatar it was foggy and rainy.
In Melbourne rain and fog.
I wondered if it would go backwards south of the equator.
I guess not...
Tomorrow, we go pet wombats.
