I’m appealing

My insurance company sent me a letter yesterday saying they think the car
accident was my fault. They are claiming there was only one lane and I was
making an illegal pass on the right when I got hit.

The good news is that on the back of the form they sent me about is the
form to fill out if you want to appeal the decision.
The bad news is you have to pay $50 to be considered for the appeal, and
you never get that $50 back.
But, I figure it is $50 to try and get rid of the $500 deductible and is
still worth it.

I’m told it can take up to a year to get the appeal actually reviewed by
the state insurance board. And, I may need to actually go and present my
side of it to someone.
We’ll see how that works out.

Hopefully my car will be repaired soon.

Are you going to do your google map thing and get pic.s of the road to show the two lanes?

Submitted in my initial report...

Well WTF, can't they see the two lines.

Insurance is so much fun, isn't it? :(

*facepalm*

I'm convinced that the entire insurance industry (health, home, auto, all of it) has an evil plan to just refuse to cover some percentage of all their valid claims as a twisted money saving procedure. They figure that most people will just refuse to jump through the hoops and then they won't have to pay the claim. Bastards.

My roomie worked for Fallion Health for yrs. She has spoken about the office that was just there to deny claims. They had crunched the numbers and most folks would not re-file. The few that did re-file got paid. Insurance Co.s. Suck.

I KNEW IT!

as someone who worked in the industry I will say you are not wrong. It is even sadder with life insurance as they try to say that people with stage 4 cancer killed them selves in some way just to fight paying out.

They literally do. They pay people bonuses to deny valid claims. Truth.

"insurance" is becoming more and more fraudulent, and out to be criminally prosecuted as such.

Years and years ago Marilyn and I were in an accident right by the house. Even now it's nearly impossible to EXPLAIN what happened -- and it was ridiculous to try and diagram (and there was no Google map back then!).

Even though the woman in question was CLEARLY in the wrong, this impacted our insurance -- and we couldn't get them to reconsider! It still galls me, as we did nothing wrong and ended up paying... (sigh)

I'm GLAD you're fighting it, Frank! Go, YOU! I hope you win this thing!!!

(hugs)

Charming. It's like they didn't even read your initial report.
